As regards Chinese Meile, in transit through Hongkong from
Chin, to Chinose Post Offices, foreign mail matter of
Hongkong origin d stined for Chinese offices between
Hongkong and Canton or places beyond, or mail matter ad-
dressed to Chinose, by all means let them be hanged over
to the Railway and the Imperial Chineze Post Office, and
the amount payable to the steamers for carriage will be
diminished pro tanto, while the profits of the Shamion
Post Office, wholly derived from outgoing matter, will
correspondingly increase.

lougunont are being transmitted to His Majesty's Minister.
